Produced from a stock photograph, this meme is fairly unusual and very popular. Photographer Antonio Guillem snapped this image originally and uploaded it to iStock in 2015. After two years, this photo became a popular meme. People added captions to the image as per their interest to represent real-life things that usually distract people. The meme went viral in the months that followed. It was even banned from use by a company near the end of 2018.  


This meme originated in 2010 that comprises photos of Shiba Inu, which is a Japanese dog’s breed known for being tiny, agile, and having a quizzical face. The original photos appeared with this dog named “Kabosu”, who casually sits on a sofa giving a sideways glance at the camera.

“Doge” was born with the help of Reddit. People started using the images by photoshopping into various situations. They also add internal monologue quotes in Comic Sans to make it funnier. This famous meme also gave rise to a satirical form of cryptocurrency (Dogecoin).

This irritable looking cat goes by the real name “Tardar Sauce”. This meme went viral because of Reddit in late 2012 when people got access to the original photos of Grumpy Cat. There were a number of photoshopped pictures of Grumpy Cat on the internet with captions that show his disliking for whatever may be the topic. He gained so much popularity that various stuffed toys, books, t-shirts, etc. were sold with his face on them.

Success Kid

Also known as “I hate sandcastles”, the success kid went viral in 2008 when his photo taken at a beach was popular on social media. So many people started setting this photo as their profile picture. After some time, it was photoshopped which gave rise to numerous memes referencing his apparent hatred for sandcastles.

The real name of the kid is Sammy Griner who has aged a few years. He used his fame for paying for his father’s new kidney after creating a plea for funding a transplant.
